Tamara M. Kear, PhD, RN, CNN

An alumnus of the PhD in nursing program in 2009, Tamara M. Kear, PhD, RN, CNN, began a tenure-track position in the College of Nursing in 2011. In 2012, she took a group of eight nursing students to the Dominican Republic for one week as part of a junior-level nursing course to provide health care and health promotion teaching to Haitian immigrants living and working in rural sugar cane fields. They also assisted in constructing water filtration systems, and visited a city hospital and local orphanage. She returns annually to the Dominican Republic with students from the College of Nursing and Campus Ministry.
